How A Toy Rental Company Automated Bookings Across Four Cities With BookX
About JusPlay
Founded in Gurgaon, India, JusPlay is a toy rental company that rents big toys, like really big ones like slides, trampolines, ride-on cars, playhouses, etc. With JusPlay, parents don’t have to buy the toys for their kids when they ‘actually’ need them for only a few weeks. This unique business model helped solve parents’ pain points and serve the kids’ love for toys.
The company was founded in 2020 by Neha Goel, a former corporate professional who quit her job to build something that makes every parent and child happy. But the story began before that.

How did JusPlay start?
It all started in 2019, when Neha was in a corporate career.
"I was dissatisfied both ways. Picking up my kids from daycare late at night, I was very upset. At the same time, I had to give up promotions, travel plans because of the kids. I was not happy in my career. That was the point where I decided I have to choose one.", and she chose her ‘kids’ said Neha when asked about how it all started.

So, her first business idea was a physical play area, where families pay an entry fee and kids spend hours in an indoor space. Neha opened one in January 2020.
By March 2020, they closed the play area due to COVID. Most people would have stopped there.
But Neha looked at the inventory sitting in her warehouse and made a different call.
One family asked for the toys. Then another. Then people started asking about birthday parties.
JusPlay was formally registered in August 2022. But the real founding happened quietly in 2020 when a warehouse full of toys.
Building a unique business model

Neha will be the first to say: “The market isn't won yet.”
"Convincing people that renting is a good idea is very difficult,” said Neha when asked about parent’s mindset in renting toys. “Many people want to buy. And if they are renting, they think it should come for two to three percent of the cost. They compare our products with cheap products available online."
Even after explaining the value, the brand quality, the hygiene process, the delivery and setup price, many customers still say: I'll just buy a cheaper toy myself.
She keeps going anyway, one converted parent at a time.
The Challenge
Managing four locations was challenging
For more than two years, JusPlay ran entirely on WhatsApp.
A customer would message, and the team would check availability and then plan their delivery accordingly.
But as JusPlay expanded to multiple cities, the manual system became impossible. Three problems made it hard for them:
Challenge 1: Multi-location complexity
JusPlay delivered to four cities: Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, and New Gurgaon. Each city has its own delivery team and its own day when the truck runs. Toys cannot be delivered beyond those days.

Challenge 2: Location-specific booking days
JusPlay's operations run on clever logic. Every city only accepts bookings on specific days because every booking day maps directly to a delivery route day.
- Gurgaon's truck runs four times a week: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday.
- Delhi twice: Monday and Friday.
- Noida once: Sunday.
- New Gurgaon once: Tuesday.
If a customer in Gurgaon books a 7-day rental on Tuesday, the toy returns the following Tuesday when the truck is already in that zone. 14 days means two Tuesdays later.
"It evolved," Neha says, when asked if she designed this from day one. They built the system through experience and misaligned pickups until they solved it.
Challenge 3: Overbooking risk
Without a real-time calendar, the same toy would be booked by two customers at the same time. So, they tried finding a Shopify booking to solve it.
The Solution
The challenges they faced needed a tool to solve and automate their bookings across 4 cities.
JusPlay installed BookX right when they started their store on Shopify. They knew about BookX through a friend and installed it.
Then, for setup, the BookX team helped them with return date logic, location-specific availability, and how to manage double bookings.
What came out of those conversations is now a permanent feature of BookX available to any rental business with complex location logic.
1. Location-aware booking days
Each zone has its own start dates. A customer in Delhi only sees Monday and Friday. A customer in Gurgaon sees four options. Nobody ever sees a date that can't actually be fulfilled.

2. Automatic return date calculation
Customers can choose 7 or 14 days. BookX calculates the exact return date automatically based on the location and start day selected.

3. Real-time capacity blocking
The moment a toy is rented, it disappears from the calendar so there is no possibility for double-booking.
4. One dashboard for everything
JusPlay was able to manage all four locations, bookings, and pickups from a single view.
Here’s how customers book a toy on the JusPlay store:
What used to be a basic booking process with WhatsApp messages is now structured with five steps.
The Result
The entire customer journey from browsing the toys to booking has become smooth, fast, and completely error-free across all four locations.
Here’s what the result JusPlay achieved:
But what matters most is the hours Neha got back. When asked about the overall experience, she said:
What’s Next
When asked about JusPlay’s expansion to other cities, here’s what she said:
"I'm even looking for answers. We are planning. I don't really have any answer right now. But yes, I'm trying to figure it out. In our case, operations is very heavy and very complex. I have to be very, very careful."
What This Means for Rental Businesses Like Yours
