How Shopify Stores Create Weekend and Seasonal Pricing (Inside 3 Real Stores)

Shopify stores that take bookings by the date, a stay or a rental depend on weekend and seasonal pricing. The same slot is worth more on some days than others. So, charging one price for all days, either looks overpriced than the quiet days or underprices on the busy ones.

The three stores we've featured in this article each handle it differently.

The different businesses: a glamping retreat in the mountains of Mexico, a beach bar and bungalow stay in Greece, and a beekeeping equipment shop in Canada.

These completely unrelated businesses price based on when the booking happens, using BookX's Seasonal Pricing.

Here is how each store does it.

Vive Libre (Santiago, Nuevo León, Mexico)

Vive Libre runs a set of glamping cabins tucked into the mountains near Santiago, Mexico. Their cabins are marketed as a romantic getaway, the kind of place people plan a trip around.

The smart move

Vive Libre doesn't treat every stay at their cabins the same, which is exactly right for a destination people travel to visit.

They’ve priced the weeknights as $ 4,500 and weekend nights $4,900.

It's not a huge gap, but it's the difference between a rate for weekdays and a rate for the weekends when there’s more demand.

The booking calendar shows the adjusted cabin price for each date directly, before the customer picks anything.

The result

The calendar sells the room at the right price on its own. Once its rule is set for weekend pricing, it just runs.

What you can learn from Vive Libre

If you see high demand for weekend bookings like Friday and Saturday, raise the price. For the rest of the days, keep your usual price.

Blanco Tierra Sea & Bungalows (Livanátes, Greece)

Blanco Tierra is a beach bar and bungalow stay on Schinias beach, Greece. The place is a Blue Flag-certified stretch of coast in central Greece. It's a summer destination that most people visit from June till September.

The smart move

Blanco Tierra doesn't just price weekends higher, it knows when to stop.

Through September, weekend nights at their stays carry a real premium, €60 against a €50 weekday rate.

By October, that premium is gone completely. Every night, weekday or weekend, drops to a flat €50.

Most stays set a seasonal rate and keep the same throughout the season. Blanco Tierra's rule stops the seasonal pricing when the season’s over.

The result

The calendar itself tells the story of the season. The rule for September’s weekend pricing simply stops once October starts.

What you can learn from Blanco Tierra

Don't charge a premium price for weekends when the season’s over. Setting a rate to the season protects your off-season bookings to look like it’s overpriced.

La Ruchette (Quebec City, Canada)

La Ruchette is the only dedicated beekeeping equipment shop in eastern Quebec, Canada. Alongside their training courses and locally-bred bees, they rent out specialized tools used to treat hives for mites.

The smart move

La Ruchette prices their hive rentals strictly by the day.

Renting the tools for a weekend would normally mean three separate day-charges:    $50 for Saturday, $50 for Sunday, $50 for Monday and a total of $150.

La Ruchette prices it differently. Pick it up Saturday at 1pm, return it by Tuesday 11am, and pay one flat $65 for the whole stretch.

It's priced around how people actually want to rent it for the whole weekend, not day by day.

The result

A customer booking for the weekend sees one clear bundle price. La Ruchette locks in a predictable rate for its highest-demand pickup window every single week.

What you can learn from La Ruchette

Dynamic pricing isn't only about charging more when there’s demand. It can also mean charging a discounted total for a bigger booking, like a flat weekend rate instead of three separate days.

What all three stores have in common

A glamping retreat, a beach bungalow stay, and a beekeeping equipment shop have almost nothing in common as businesses.

And yet each one made sure they don’t charge one flat price for every date.

All these three businesses did it with BookX's Seasonal Pricing feature. It lets a date, a day of the week, or a specific window carry its own price. You just set it once, and let it run without anyone manually updating the price week to week.

But the real lesson is that each business looked at how their own demand actually moves and built a pricing rule that matched it. That's the part worth copying.
