Shopify Preorder Examples from 6 Furniture Stores

Furniture isn’t always ready to ship tomorrow. A sofa may take 10 weeks to arrive, a table may still be in production, or a custom piece may need to be made after the order is placed.

Preorders give stores a way to keep selling while customers wait. We looked at six Shopify stores to see how they use preorders and what they do differently.

At a glance: 6 furniture stores and their preorder setups

Most take a deposit and give a lead time of 4 to 12 weeks, with deposits ranging from 30% to 70%. The table below compares each store's payment options, lead time, and standout move.

Store Country Payment options Lead time Standout move
Orpaï Studio France Full payment (5% off) or 30% deposit Ships November 2026 Rewards full payment with a discount

What preorder features do most furniture stores use?

Most of these stores use a clear preorder label, a specific delivery estimate, customer reviews and a deposit or instalment option. Here's how each one shows up across the six stores.

  • Preorder labels: To help customers understand that a product is not immediately available, stores use labels such as “Made-to-Order,” “Backorder,” and “Preorder.”
  • Customer reviews: Four of the six stores display reviews on their product pages, giving customers more confidence before they buy.
  • Estimated delivery: All six stores mention when the product will arrive, using a week range, a shipping month or an exact delivery date.
  • Partial payment options: Three of the stores offer both full and partial payment options, while the others accept only full payment.

All six stores also run their preorders with Dibs- Preorders & Backorders app for their preorder setup and management.
