Who is this for:

You're already running Vicify on your Shopify store and have decided to move to Dibsโ€” maybe for the dashboard, maybe for the ability to combine payment options on one plan, or maybe because of something you read in our Dibs vs. Vicify comparison.

This guide walks through what to rebuild, in what order, and what to check before your new setup goes live in front of customers.

Before you touch anything: protect your live store

The single most common mistake in an app switch isn't a missed setting โ€” it's building the new setup directly on your live theme while orders are still coming in. Do this first:ย

  1. Duplicate your live theme in Shopify: go to Online Store โ†’ Theme โ†’ Duplicate, and do every step below on the copy.ย
  2. Leave Vicify running on the live theme until Dibs is fully built out and tested on the duplicate.ย
  3. Publish the duplicate once you've been through the testing checklist further down this guide.

What you'll need before you start

  • A record of every live Vicify campaign, which products or variants are in it, what the fulfillment type and payment type are, and whether any product sits in more than one campaign at once
  • If everything is ready, it takes roughly 15โ€“20 minutes per campaign you're rebuilding.

Step-by-step: moving your configuration

1. Recreate your plans

For each Vicify campaign, note whether it's for a preorder or a backorder. Dibs asks you to choose a Plan Category (Preorder or Backorder) up front, since the two behave differently in the setup flow, unlike Vicify. Give the new plan a clear name โ€” it will be tagged to every order that comes through it, so a name that matches your Vicify campaign name makes reconciliation easier.

2. Reassign products, variants, or collections

Manually add every product, variant, or collection that was included in the Vicify campaign, so you don't miss anything. It's similar to how Vicify works. To make your task easier, Dibs provides filters that let you quickly pick and add them.

3. Quantity limit

Vicify lets you set one quantity limit at the campaign level. In Dibs, you can set a quantity limit at a product or variant level.

4. Shipping schedule

Rebuild your fulfillment timing under each plan's Shipment & Payment step. This shipping information is also shown on the product page, cart, and checkout pages.

5. Payment options

Vicify supports either full or partial payments โ€” but not more than one active at once. Dibs lets you enable both full and partial payments on the same plan, so customers can choose how they want to pay. Also include all the discounts you had on the Vicify plan under each payment option in Dibs as well.

6. Multiple campaigns on the same product

Vicify allows campaign sorting, so you can add a product to multiple campaigns and display the one with the highest priority. Dibs doesn't currently offer such a feature โ€” you'll have to manually remove the product from one plan and add it to the next. This typically takes only two to three minutes.

7. Storefront widget customization

Vicify lets you customize only the text of the preorder button and the payment terms. Dibs offers a similar but slightly broader set of storefront fields per plan: badge label, payment terms, and preorder button. You can also customize the widget's appearance and position to match your store through Customize โ†’ Widget Appearance.

8. Notifications and automated emails

Vicify supports one automated email at a time. Dibs sends a preorder confirmation email and automated payment reminder emails. You can customize these from Customize โ†’ Notifications.

Mandatory check before you go liveย

Skipping these is the fastest way to end up with a confusing or broken storefront, regardless of which app you migrated from:ย

  • Use Dibs's built-in "View in store" option immediately after creating each plan to verify it displays correctly.
  • Place test orders for every payment option you offer and ensure the balance payment is collected according to your configured schedule.
  • Check that the preorder badge, plan details, and CTA button appear correctly on your storefront.
  • Test the confirmation, shipping update, and payment reminder emails to verify their content and delivery timing.

Going live

Once youโ€™re done with the checks, publish the duplicate theme, now running fully on Dibs, as your live theme. Leave Vicify installed but switched off for a short buffer period instead of removing it outright. Once a full day of real orders has gone through cleanly, remove Vicify from the store.

Vicify doesn't run on a paid billing cycle, so there's no charge to time around โ€” just make sure you've noted down any campaign details or order history you might want to reference later, since that context disappears once the app is gone.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I bring my Vicify setup into Dibs automatically?ย

No โ€” there's no bulk transfer between the two apps. Youโ€™ll have to manually add the plans, limits, payment rules, and shipment schedules. For any assistance, you can book a guided call so we can help you make it smoother.

2. Roughly how long does the switch take?ย

A store with straightforward campaigns can usually be rebuilt and tested within 1-2 hours. If you're leaning on Vicify's campaign-priority feature across several products, it may take a little longer.
